Earth, water, fire and air are requested from the peripatetic Ailsa (Where’s my backpack?) for this week’s travel theme challenge.
My four photos are all from my homeland, New Zealand. Three from the West Coast of the South Island, a strip of land elemental in the extreme and one, water, from the middle of the North, near Rotorua.

Thanks for making that so easy, Aotearoa.
Love the pancake rocks…
Oh they are amazing – a not to be missed activity.
Absolutely stunning photographs.
Thank you so much, Jo.
Lovely. x
Thank you – take some pics in Paris.
The pancake rock is amazing, and I really like your response to Air.
those rocks are wonderful. If you ever go make sure it’s high tide – I shall say no more 🙂 Yes, that air was laden with promise.
Lovely NZ! Those rocks had me in awe for hours. Fantastic.all the elements – well done!
Thank you I am so glad you got to see them too.
New Zealand – next BIG trip I think. Such incredible landscapes.
You will have a marvellous time and i hope the weather for you is as good as it was this summer.
Gorgeous photos!
Thank you, Su.
Well this just makes me want to go back again, as if I needed any encouragement. I think the pancake rocks must be on the itinerary next time. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.
Don’t forget hight tide! and when you go I’ll tell you a great little place to stay up the road from the pancakes.
Great. I will remember to ask you!
Love that last one!
Bit wild huh? not so much of that in NYC.
Very wild, and I’m envious 🙂
I love the pancake rocks and the Maori gods cooking their evening kai! By the way, love your deep orange background. 🙂
oh yes, that’s part of my new theme. obviously had to ask for help from the WP elves.
Just beautiful Mrs. C! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
My pleasure, Sonel.
These are great – I think the first and last ones are my favorites!
Taken very close together too. Thank you.
foggy finish!
foggy indeed and somewhat wet too.
A place of beauty… pit they can’t play rugby! 😉
Now I am laughing 😀
Oh and I hope you realise you are talking to a potato famine Kiwi here.
Indeed… please correct the typo… yes, we blind Saffers still believe we were robbed… and you Kiwi’s imported most of yer warriors!
Get talent where you can, I say. Don’t be a sore loser now.
i’m originally from the west coast, the last photo could have been taken from our front yard, literally, lol! great shots!
Where abouts exactly? My grandfather was a mine manager at Blackball.
