Every, every morning I treasure my coffee time. The process includes grinding Columbian beans, brewing the liquid gold in my Bialetti and sipping two or three cups, black, from a Lucie Rie masterpiece.
*The dark Lindt chilli chocolate is obviously treasured but not an every day indulgence.
**Coffee, cup, beans and cocoa posing on my marble topped Saarinen table – perfection.
Perfection indeed. I am on my way…
Bit of a mess today Jude, best to come after a night not like last night……..
Oh, you mean I missed the party? Damn…
Very artistic for someone who had a rough night last night! I love that image. 🙂
Thank you – not taken this morn I have to admit.
Treasures that warms the heart.
yes, literally 🙂
Great contrast with the beans and the lovely Marble. I have granite but I love Marble! I can smell it from here!
yes, delish – thank you 🙂
I love expresso coffee in the morning; it really wakes me up 🙂 nice treasure.
nothing better -thanks
Good treasure!
so good but I love bikes too 🙂
Mmmm……looks so good. 🙂
It so was.
Makes for a stunning still life apart from the sensory stimulation 🙂
What a kind comment, thank you, Madhu.
Yum, lovely coffee in a perfect setting with the Lucy Rie, the marble… I have granite, and wouldn’t get that contrast in an image…
it’s a generous table top for photography.
🙂
Your coffe cup is among the prettiest. I’m not surprised 🙂
Our Lucie was an amazing potter.
Was it made by a daughter of yours? My compliments. I really like the shape of the cup and the proportions.
Oh no, Lucie Rie was a famous potter who lived most of her life in England. You can google her beautiful and delicate work.
My mother collected her in NZ and keeping that collection is one of the most sensible things I have done.
my most read post is about her – I think It’s called ‘The Lucie Rie’ and is filed under mrscarmichael’s creative twin/cousin??? What did I call it? – there are more photos in the post.
Thank you, now I see you mentioned Lucie Rie above the photo… of course I will read your post about her. Interesting, I’m sure.
Perfect. The colours are lovely in this photo. Lindt chocolate=yum!
Oh so yum and thank you.
I love good coffee in the morning, but I can’t bear to do the work myself.
You lazy sod! The prep is half the fun and don’t get me started on juicing 🙂
Oh, I am SOOOOO with you on treasuring that first cuppa Mrs C!!
struggle to survive without them 🙂
Oh yes! My treasure too 😀
black gold (and I’m not talking oil).
A high-class treasure indeed! All that elegance at breakfast —
I don’t know if I could live up to it!!!!
But then again, Mrs. Carmichael — as we’ve all come to know — is herself a class act. I keep hoping it’ll rub off on me —-
(tee hee)
I’m hoping it will rub off on ME 🙂
Wonderful! I can smell it!! This could of been a photo from my kitchen 🙂
I love your kitchen!
Absolutely perfect 🙂
xoxo
I think so every morning 🙂
My first cup time is sacred. 🙂
my first three
lol, I was thinking that, but afraid to say it out loud–I should have known better 😀
The photo evokes the subtle textural juxtapositions conveyed through the lens. (Wow, my brain fog has lifted for a scant moment, odd!) Very tactile, and all around sensory, Love it. Thought of you today, Mrs. C, whilst reading the newspaper. In the classifieds under the “Want to Buy” category was this ad: “WANTED FULL SIZE MANNEQUIN, male/female, reasonable.”
You could have bought me – job lot!
I wonder if “reasonable” meant price or demeanour.
🙂 🙂
😉
Bialetti is fantastic. We use that too. Every day!
Something so satisfying about the process.
